Here's a brief recap of the '64 Valiant. while no supercar or ultra valuable rarity, they're one of many unsung heroes of the automotive industry at the time.

My folks had one with a slant 6 cylinder motor. They took us to Florida on a vacation and we slept in the folded down back seat area. Us kids loved that car and we cried when our folks sold it.

Just noticed the tail lights of the ‘64 Valiant bear resemblance to the tail lights of the ‘63 Imperial.

These 60s Valiants were daily drivers well into the late 1990s in Detroit. They were everywhere when I was growing up; 70s -90s.

For anyone wondering, the film referenced is called Duel, starring Dennis Weaver.

We sold pot in 68 in Southern Calif. We would buy nice Valiant from old folks, tint the windows, and put a great stereo in it and drive around 100s of pounds of pot without ever getting stopped.

Let's tell the whole story of the Barracuda beating the Mustang to market by two weeks. Both cars came out in spring of 64 and the Plymouth Barracuda had a two week advantage over the Mustang but the sales tell the real story. In they're first year of production Plymouth sold 22, 000 units and a total of about 340, 000 units by the end of its production in 1974. Ford on the other hand sold about 500, 000 units in its first year of production alone.

The Valiant was South Africa's best selling car in the mid-60s.

Despite Ma MoPar having "quality issues" going back to 1957, This was NEVER the case with the Valiant! From 1960 thru1976 every one was an "unkillable" little car.(They were often a "kid's" first car in to the late 1980s!) Then they pissed it away be replacing the Valiant with the Volare.
