Geothermal has been around for a long time. It is good to see folks are finally starting to take advantage of a cheap, renewable resource.

Thank you for this presentation. It is great that Utah is developing geothermal. As mentioned the particular drilling technology used involves fracking. In some geologic places fracking as cause seismic disturbances. There are other experimental drilling process that are being tried. Think: Plasma deep drilling technology.

Here is the name of a company that is already past the test stage of advanced geothermal: Fervo Energy.

The only thing that's kind of a bummer is this isn't new. They were working on this in the 70s and got it to work (Fenton Hill, NM). The DOE (or Clinton) shut down the research in the 90s. It's possible we could have been running the country on Hot Dry Rock already in 2024.
