Sounds interesting. On a minor note, I don't think I would store it above the stove like that. If something on the stove catches fire, you would have to reach *THROUGH* the flames to get it.

Like they recommend with fire extinguishers, I think I would hang it *NEAR THE EXIT.* That way, if you head to get the fire blanket and the fire really flares up, you won't wind up with the fire between you and safety.

Thank you for the review, Just Not sure if I'll keep it above the stove in the cabinet, like he demonstrated.

I love this version. Hang in there my dear sister in Christ. God is good and loves you for all that you do for your family out of your love. Amen

My concern with these is that if the flame gets high enough, you could burn your hand trying to get the blanket to the far side of the fire. What I think could be useful is if one of the sides is weighted slightly so that you could throw the blanket over the fire if you needed to

I would carry one in my bag as self-protection or saving a person life. It is a good item for people who work in a chemical factory that fire can just blast. This blanket is a life saver and saves your life.

It is worth noting that a test was done on the news. They used an oil fire. It put out the flames. The problem was that, even after eight minutes, the flames reignited every time they removed the blanket from the fire - with no heat source left. It is obviously still useful, but one should simply keep in mind that the fire could reignite very quickly and so it is best to use it as part of a whole package.

This blanket is not large enough.

The best use is to cover yourself to get out of the house.

It can prove great to dowse flames if a person is on fire, but has to be much larger in size.

It is either impossible or challenging to help someone who’s on fire. My neighbor helped to dowse flames off a teenage girl. Skin from both his hand palms was gone and were bleeding.

It will have limited effect if a frying pan is on fire.
Once I had a big frying pan fire. I squeezed a fire extinguisher powder filled plastic bottle (vintage). It put off the fire. Turning off the stove was tricky.
In 30 seconds it reignited & turned into a bigger fire. Oil & the powder burning. Luckily, I used my Le Creuset cast iron pot lid to cover the frying pan.

Smoke was billowing out of windows. Strangely not a single car stopped to see if the building was on fire & call 911.

Above the microwave over your oven is not optimum. You would have to be reaching through the flames to get it. I keep mine just around the corner from the oven, about 6 feet away. Same thing for the one in the room with my fireplace.

I'm getting relentless ads for these. They literally will not stop advertising this to me. I almost don't wanna buy it just because of how annoying the ads are.

I don't think I would keep it above the stove, because (1) you would have to reach over the fire to get it, and (2) a child may notbe able toreach it up there. You would certainly want it to be easily available to everyone in the house.

Not sure you can cover an oven entirely so no air is getting in like you did with that little bowl with flames.

What is your background regarding fire behavior, fire suppression, and fire safety?

So why would you recommend putting it in the cabinet over the fire? Asking for a friend. ; ~)

Question. Bought the same knife blankets as you. What’s the difference in the numbers. We have 1869-1997. But they sent us 1869-2019. They look the same so is it when the blankets were made or is it stock number.

The only thing I would not do is have pack over stove per a big fire someone would not be able to get blanket. Maybe under sink and back side of door to even a kid can get it

Once the fire goes vertical, the blanket is pretty much a non player.

This testing is a flop. Who would do any wood burning in a house for cooking food??? You have not try it for grease fire from the stove. Ridiculous!!
