In the late 80s I would be in the Black Swan as the renamed Ojay's most Fridays and Saturdays to watch bands as well as playing onstage myself. Otherwise we'd be at the Charlotte or Magazine doing the same. Those were some excellent times.

Nice to see that all these buildings (As far as I know) in the video are still standing today and have a new use. Some pub buildings wern't so lucky.

How many of us socialised with friends and met boyfriends/girlfriends in these places every weekend. They were the hive of activity and Im very sad they are gone.

To be fair most of these are in areas where other commercial venues have failed as well. They're victims of area blight as much as anything.
