What do we do if we roll a red dice if we are in the red room or if we are on one the courtyard next to the main gate. Do we go to red room or

My sons just started playing this game, and I have a game question I can't find an answer to in the guide. If my son rolls a yellow and adds a zombie to the yellow room and another player is already standing in the yellow room when the zombie is added, can that player just immediately kill the zombie and send him back to the reserve? Or do you have to wait until the next roll to kill it?
