I feel like they tested the letter of the "rule" rather than the spirit of it with this test. In other words, the 5 second rule really just means "pick it up fast", so a 6 second time frame doesn't really show a guide for any practical application. A minute compared to 5 seconds might be a better comparison to see if time spent on the contaminated surface does make a difference.
