As a virus mutates it becomes more infectious but less deadly. That way a successful virus is very contagious but it does not kill or debilitate its host. I wish they would make this clearer when talking about this issue. So don't panic every time there is a new variant or they say it is more contagious. Yes, more contagious but also less deadly.
