Plus, if you have friends singing for you the acoustics are great! (Even for recorded music)

I have breast cancer, with mets in my sacrum. I like to straddle the toilet for the same reason, lol. It relieves pressure on my tailbone and takes away the cancer pain when it’s particularly bad. Another thing I found that is really nice, but I am small and not pregnant, is a 3 legged sling camping chair/stool. It has no back to it, sits low to the ground. I sink into it, too. Takes the pain right away. Too bad there can’t be something like that could be modeled up for labor and delivery. I remember mine, 27 and half hours of natural labor…wouldn’t recommend lol. Delivered a 9 pound baby, 22” long. I’m 5’ tall, weighed 85 pounds when I got pregnant. I was 16. Couldn’t even suck on a washrag that whole time, lol, I will never forget the thirst! First thing I said after he was born? Can I please have some water now? 🤦🏻‍♀️ Horrible! He’s gotten over it 😄, he’s 31, and I’m a grandma to an 11 year old now. Yup, that math is correct. Grandma at 37! I missed 36 by just a couple weeks.

I spent most of my pushing phase on the toilet. It wasn't really intentional. 😅 First I was just confused and thought I needed to poop (didn't realise I'd just gone through transition, was still at home at that stage). Then after realising and dashing to the birthing unit, the room wasn't properly set up yet, so I just gravitated to the first thing I could find to sit on. Spent a good bit of time *trying* not to actively push while my midwife dashed around getting the room ready. Finally moved to the bed, midwife checked me and said, "I can feel his head! You can push now!" Can confirm that the toilet is a great delivery tool!

I was labouring on gas and air and baby wasn’t coming but her heart beat dropped. 9ams dialated, gonna get sorted for surgery but ask if I can go to the toilet first. All of a sudden there’s babies head 😂

Lmaoo! That’s why with our first child, our nurse made me come off the toilet! It was much more comfortable than the bed 🥴🤦🏾‍♀️🤣🤣🤣❤️

My mum nearly had a C section for me and then she sat on the toilet while waiting and a midwife had to catch my head before it hit the bowl! Midwife then had to hold it as my mum waddled back to the bed 😭😭

I had my first baby at a birthing center, where they let you labor/birth basically wherever in the room you want... Needless to say, my son was born on the toilet!

Too bad hospitals can't just get it together and provide a labor chair or stool🙄

The majority of 2 of my labors were spent on the toilet. I highly recommend.
