I have painted 13 dark wood doors in my house to white and started with Kilz. It went on thin and I had to apply at least three coats! I switched up to Zinsser 1-2-3 and it went on much thicker and covered in one coat. If you have dark paint or wood to cover, I had good luck with Zinsser. I went on to paint oak cabinets, stair rails and window sills all using Zinsser as the base primer. I rolled and brushed everything. It's been a few years and everything has held up nice!

Bin is the best, it is like double expensive than 2 products above, I used the zinsser to spray the old stair over the old vanish or polyurethane finish, after it dried, some spots turned yellow. I knew that if I sprayed the top coat finish, the yellow still showed which was not good at all. So I stopped and switched to BIN . No complaints !
