How is that not a foul? Rule 9-1-9b says "When an offensive player is in a passing posture with one or both feet on the ground, no defensive player rushing unabated shall hit them forcibly at the knee area or below".

It’s not a foul because he is not a protected thrower because he scrambled outside the pocket and was considered a runner at that point and it’s up to him to protect himself as such. The announcer even says that was the case.

As much as I dislike Colorado, that is a clear roughing penalty. How it wasn’t called is beyond me

Hitting a quarterback below the knees, even if the defender is blocked into the quarterback, can result in a roughing the passer penalty. These types of hits can cause severe knee injuries, and the rule is designed to prevent defenders from diving at quarterbacks' legs..

I broke my leg and dislocated my ankle which pointed backwards taking a low hit in rugby with my foot planted….he is fortunate his foot wasn’t planted….that was dirty in my opinion…
