[TRIPofJHL] Trip to Ondal Tourist Site in Danyang

Ondal Tourist Site is a medieval tourist site built along Ondal Cave and Ondal Fortress in Yeongchun-myeon, Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do.

- With its popularity, there are a lot of souvenir shops and local product shops before the entrance.
- The open air studio reenacts the fortress and the village. Thus, it has been used for multiple TV series.
- None of these aren't really old. But, this highly crafty studio is good enough to collect tourists.
- Inside buildings, drama props are still being exhibited like a museum.
- Each flag has a three legged crow on it. In ancient East Asia, a three legged crow is an imaginary bird that is considered to be living in the sun. Commonly seen in murals of Goguryeo Dynasty.
- Ondal is the name of a general in Goguryeo Dynasty. Famous for elevating his position after marrying a princess.
- Ondal Exhibition Hall consists of complex of multiple small buildings.
- Ondal Festival with various events is being held in October.
- Ondal Fortress is the stone-made fortress on the mountain of 427m from the sea level. It is said this was built during Goguryeo Dynasty in 6th century. Very simple and plain. But, it is well-maintained from the original structure.
Ondal Cave which is approx. 450 million years old is also popular place in the site.

[TRIPofJHL] 단양 온달관광지 여행…

충북 단양군 영춘면에 소재한 온달관광지. 중세의 모습을 구현한 관광지로 온달동굴, 온달산성과 함께 있다.

- 관광객들에게 인기있는 이곳은 입구부근부터 수많은 기념품점과 토산품점, 식당들이 즐비하다.
- 야외촬영세트장은 성곽과 마을을 구현해 놓았으며 이로인해 여러 드라마의 촬영장소로 사용되었다.
- 성벽에는 드라마 신의, 연개소문, 천추태후, 태왕사신기, 화랑, 육룡이 나르샤, 바람의 나라, 정도전 등을 촬영하였다고 크게 포스터가 붙어있다.
- 야외세트장에서 실제로 오래된 건축물은 없지만 관광객들의 관심을 불어일으키기에는 부족함이 없다.
- 건물 안에는 드라마 소품들이 박물관처럼 전시되어 있다.
- 관광지 내에 있는 깃발들에는 삼족오가 그려져 있는데, 동아시아의 환상종으로 전해내려오는 삼족오는 예로부터 태양에 산다고 알려져 왔다. 고구려의 벽화 등에 흔히 묘사되어 있다고 한다.
- '온달'이라는 명칭은 삼국시대 고구려의 장수인 온달장군으로부터 왔다. 미천한 신분에서 평강공주와 결혼하여 장군으로까지 신분상승한 온달설화로 유명하다.
- 온달전시관은 여러 건물들이 연결되어 있는 구조로 되어있다.
- 10월에는 이곳에서 다양한 행사가 열리는 온달축제가 개최된다.
- 온달산성은 해발 427m에 축조된 돌을 쌓아올린 산성이다. 6세기 고구려시기에 만든 것으로 알려져 있다. 형태는 매우 단순하며 원형의 모습이 잘 보존되어 있다.
- 온달관광지 내에 위치한 온달동굴은 약 4억5천만년 전부터 형성되어 왔으며 이역시 관광객들에게 사랑받는 장소이다.
