Cat Mortimer

Cat Mortimer had an NDE when she fell out of a tree at 6 years old, knocking the wind out of her. Talking about the experience and its aftereffects was complicated by the mental illness in her family. She never uttered a word of it for 40 years. When she finally told the story at the Farmington IANDS meeting of four people, she was told that it was an NDE. This resulted in her journey to look back on and reframing all her experiences as a psychic person which she was reluctant to admit.

Cat started her nursing career at the age of twenty-seven using her extraordinary sensitivities to help her patients, especially those whose ability to talk was interrupted. She advocated for those elders who were ready to cross over; to be allowed to die. She was fearless in her quest to help families when they were ready whereas other nurses back away from the subject. Today, Cat volunteers in hospice giving support to patients and their families whenever she can.
