How I make abstract music - PART 1 (Ableton Live 11)

I had come up with a sketch spontaneously and I found out that, it had some potential to turn into a track. So, I hit the record button and got to work.

You will get to see how I finish a track once I have the initial sketch. Also, this track is the Reprise version of my previous single "Retention". You can listen to the end product using the link below :

I have made these Ableton Live project files available for free download. Use the link below to download them. If you would like to support what I'm doing here, then use the second link where you can pay $3 or higher for the project files. You get 3 project files from track sketch to mastering + plugin list.

In PART 1, we will explore :

- Preliminary mixing, corrective EQ, Phase check
- Finalizing Arrangement by adding a new instrument
- Panning Automation + Stereo field definition
- Return Effect Live automation
- Naming files
- Render out individual stems for PART 2

Please note that, this video displays how I make abstract/experimental music. It involves listening to the sounds actively. Hence, I have included some parts where I just listen and then take action. This is not the only way to make this type of music.

Editing this video down to the bare points defeats the purpose of learning, since learning comes from observing not just the destination but also the journey....so yeah, relax and just focus on the sounds and the explanation text that appears on the screen from time to time.

PART 2 to follow shortly. It's still in the works. Stay tuned!

Anyways, I hope you find this valuable. If you have any further questions, please leave it in the comments below and I will try to answer them as much as I can.

See you in PART 2. Take care!
