What do yacht stabilisers do? A demonstration.

Out on the water with a gyro stabilised Fairline Squadron 68, so I thought I'd show you exactly what these stabilisers actually do.

Amazing; my first job in the US Navy was maintaining a Mk3 Mod 4 SINS (Ship's Inertial Navigation System) which used human head sized gyroscopes in 3D Config. + 1 Monitor gyro and corresponding accelorometers to generate position & speed over ground for own ship and weapon systems.

Way more effective than I had imagined possible. When buying a new boat, the additional cost should amount to very little extra in the "monthly". Added on to an existing boat (you own outright) - a visit to your local banker with boat title in hand and a few boating seasons later, you'll not only get the title back (stabilizer paid off), but you'll have saved hours and hours of discomfort and even - well...
