Face data to unlock phones is kept locally (on the phone) and not by Apple. Even if Apple did have this data, it in no way makes what Bunnings, Kmart, and GGs are doing acceptable.

Could be used to endanger DV victims, next they will be selling or sharing with 3rd parties. If the data could be confined to one site and anonymised ... then maybe they could use it for 'troublmakers' They should at least need to have a licence to use it.
