C&C Player Date 2 Maple/Mahogany/Maple 3pc Big Beat Kit 13/16/22 Aged Marine Pearl

he new much anticipated Player Date II series from C&C Custom Drums is finally here. Using proprietary Gladstone maple mahogany maple shells, these kits are being built by the same crew, and in the same shop as their highly regarded custom series. Meant to be a more affordable, yet still high quality series of drums, Player Dates are available in "Bebop" and "Big Beat" configurations (12/14/18 with available matching 5x14 snare, and 13/16/22 with available matching 6.5x14 snare) and in three different finishes (mahogany lacquer, honey lacquer, and silver sparkle). Utilizing their very own "full contact" bearing edge, C&C Player Date kits have an incredibly warm, responsive tone with some great punch and a wide tuning range. The 16x15 floor tom can be tuned much lower than a typical 16x16, without bottoming out or sounding flat. These drums can be seen being played out by the drummers for The Shins, My Morning Jacket, and Modest Mouse.

Sizes on this particular kit are 13x8, 16x15 and 22x14, with an available 6.5x14 snare. Finish is Aged Marine Pearl. Snare drum stand not included.

The heads on the snare and toms are Coated Vintage Ambassador's with clear Ambassador's on the bottoms. The kick has a Powerstroke 3 coated on the batter and a Smooth White Ambassador on the resonant side. Great combo of heads for that vintage vibe!

Wow... I'm not a drummer, so feel correct me if this isn't it, but the tuning of that kick is SO sweet! Had my laptop running through my studio monitors for this and... yeah... wow. Love it:)

I love companies like C&C and Craviotto making these retro looking and sounding kits, although i have one small insignificant critique concerning these kits..I think they should have the option of installing internal tom mufflers, to add to that authentic look and sound..
