This short film is for an entry for the Halloween Short Film Contest at Future FilmMakers. I collaborated with my Dad to help me to make it perfect and simple. I also use my brother's help to do one shot in one scene. All the music I used is royalty free (no copyrighted).

I burst out laughing hard at 6:42. I rewound it over and over it was so funny. I don't think this short was supposed to elicit that emotion.

Good work! I especially liked the filming colors...the purple/blue/dark grey hues were perfect. The everyday aspect mixed with the great too.

Andrew, for an amateur video, I just say you did a wonderful job! I loved the way you utilized your space completely...I mean you even feel down quite a bit as the character for different reasons, giving us a look at how your scenery appears from those angles that most producers and camera crew completely miss out on including in their movies. I was really impressed.

Critiques: as far as the acting and storyline now that's a different"story" pun intended.
First, your ghost wasn't scary, maybe you could hire someone to help with makeup and costume to give more of a scariness to your villain. Or maybe have a different actor all the way... Not to say the actor is not a GOOD actor, he just doesn't fit the script so to speak.

B. Which brings me to the story. Since your villain looks like a Teddy Bear it doesn't fit in with your narrative. If you want your story to stay the same and continue being a run of the mill "everyone already knows what's going to happen" sort of film then you desperately need your villain to be WAY more convincing. The audiences attachment to YOUR character and fear your VILLAIN so they can have someone to either root for, or be glad that the main character was
hurt/tortured/harassed and got what they deserved, even if the bad guy is the one to do it...

If you change the storyline and make it more like a comedy horror then totally keep the actor, but have him accidentally eat chocolate laxatives by the hordes and that's when you catch him with your camera for the first time and you're terrified. Get out he says and you leave and shit the door behind you.. Then a little later you find him again cross dressing with makeup and he lunges at you to grab at the camera like before he scares you and you run... The next time he sees you he immediately tries to attack and just as he has you cornered... You hear a loud rumble coming from his direction. You both realize at the same time that the laxatives he gorged on earlier, mistakenly assuming was chocolate were about to hit hard

In slow motion he starts running toward the bathroom...
In slow motion you go jump head first away from him and then

YOU BLEW UP THE GHOST!
(WE'LL JUST CALL IT GHOST JUICE)

THE END.... NO... THE OTHER END
