My husband and I come up with unique names for places and roads for fun or refer to places based on events that happened there. One of the best roads was "Igloo Trail" that was named based on the igloo cooler we found there once 20 years ago.

Multiple amateur radio clubs in the region where I live. They have been holding Fox Hunts on Saturday/Sunday mornings for the past few months since there are no outdoor activities due to COVID cancellations. The hams are finding the hidden transmitters quickly. Two hours tops. Battle field ops are shoot and move to survive. Communication ops should follow the same guidelines. Transmit and move. One recommendation would be to use a directional antenna to communicate with the intended contact. It may have a 25-35 degree beam but that’s better than broadcasting in a 360 circle for all the world to hear. 73

Great information; however I do think it’s important to note the following.
1) Ham radio scanning equipment is very cheap and effective. Regardless of I know your frequencies or not if you transmit I have your frequencies.
2) high quality ham scanners even come on phone apps now. So if your practicing your “OPSEC” the 16 year old with the a cell phone can get a digital readout of your frequencies.
3) Law enforcement deals with this issue for years. So if the habitual user of methamphetamines are able to learn law enforcement 12 code and patrol patterns trust me a motivated and desperate person can learn your SOP as well.
