will never forget these, I was born in 2003. started school for the first time in 2008. the cursive alphabet, the book fair, the chairs that were colorful yet hurt your butt after sitting in it for a long time. the old pencil sharpener that when you used it, you had to think of when to take the pencil out of the sharpener, or else the lead will break, and your pencil gets smaller and smaller, the art class where we would sit our painting projects in slots so they don't touch others. Reading Rainbow on the nostalgic VHS tv. we all sat close to the tv watching intensely, and sometimes even singing to the introduction. And of course, Cool Math Games, when the teacher was not coming near your desk, you and your BFF hopped on the website, and play games. The paper copy of the schedule. And coupon books. I am 20 years old now, and I wish I never took the childhood I lived (such as this nostalgic video) for granted. everything was simpler, nothing to worry about. Hated homework, but realizing now that homework should have been the least of worries, now that I am an adult, a lot comes with it. Working every single day, repetitive weeks, you can lose your job, and it will be harder to save money because you have bills to pay, and future endeavors you want in life but can't unless you have a job, and keep it.
i miss everything about my childhood. To those who are still in grade school (Pre-K - 12th grade) never take this for granted. Someday, you will think back and think "Dang, I should have never wished to grow up, and have "freedom"." I will never forget my last day in grade school just 2 years ago. Roaming the same halls I walked in 9th grade (starting of high school for me) and remembering how I was enjoying it for only a week, then getting tired of it, and wishing graduation came already. 3 years later, class of 2021. (2 years ago) Graduating in just weeks, the last day of school, I waited until the halls were empty, and walked through the school one last time. The same halls that I walked through when I started. the tears that flowed down my face as a senior, realizing that the time has come. It is officially the end of my grade school years. Wishing to start all over again. Realizing that I am about to become an adult, scared of growing up, and wishing I did not rush. I wish I listened to my parents when they said, "Life goes by fast, as you are still in grade school, don't rush to leave. Someday, you will want this again." and the old saying, "I wish I could go back." from our parents. Never listening because we "hated school" and it was "so much to handle, every day waking up early, getting homework, and studying for tests." And now I realize my parents were right. To those that read this ALL THE WAY through, do not rush to grow up. It goes by too quickly. As I watch these, I am crying very hard, wishing for this again. Be thankful kids, it will go by too quick. <3
