I have a 10 foot homemade flat-bottom boat that I run in Puget Sound with a 6 horse that goes 17 knots. Having a well trimmed engine (unlike the Suzuki) and the proper pitch prop would increase the performance numbers drastically.

Of course you're going to get spray off the Suzuki. Looks like you guys are just slapping the engines on and not bothering to adjust them to spec

👍I'm getting so excited!!! My inflatable is on its way. I picked up s Suzuki 9.9 . $1287 brand new. I bought a 4 blade prop. West Marine $87.00.
Now I have to run to the bathroom.
I told you I'm excited!!!😜# 1🤣

I have a small rubberboat 3 meter 90 cm long. with trespa floors and air middle section.
currently I use a yamaha 4hp, I would like to go faster, but I am not allowed to go beyond 11 knots. what do you think how much hp I willl need. I was looking for 6 HP.

In conclusion, the one on the port is not as thick as the other, but the other is not as dull as the one on port !!!

Pena que não se encontra esses motores e nem esses botes aqui no Brasil .

I posted a video of myself in a 12 foot or 14 foot aluminum boat with a 9.9 Johnson engine. Got on plane in less that 5 seconds.

thanks for talking about backwash, silent mess that ruins an outboard

Why can't you give the top speed of all of the engines. As I have a inflatable rib same as the one you tested them on and I am looking to purchase a new 10hp and I want to purchase the One with the best top speed for my boat

hi, i have a SIB, 84lbs 3m inflatable with air floor. yamaha 6hp 4stroke, 60lbs, trim pin at 1st position by transom. i just can't get it to go faster than 8mph, can't expect any planing. at full throttle the stern sinks and bow raises, total weight; 2x people+cargo+engine 390lbs do i need a bigger engine? or ride with 1 passenger only. with one passenger it would weigh, 295lb. Should i buy a 9.9hp 2 stroke or get a 9.9hp 4stroke? 4 strokes are heavy, and do you think its ok to put a 15hp 2stroke on it? the boat is rated for 10hp outboard and overall carrying weight of 1100lbs. thanks for your time.

4 years later what about new models? Let's hope that 2021 models will be tested.

Look after your old 2 stroke, never mind these 40kg anchors. Got a 2003 15hp Mercury 2 stoke, 32kg....it flies, will push a boat like this over 22 knots easy. Got all the "modern features" too, throttle/gear combo etc.
