notebooks crash vs-code on too many prints which is a known issue. more convenient for me to just have multiple python files instead.
for some reason there is no failsafe for it, which really surprised me.

some people have probably made a 3rd party failsafe. but i would rather want it to work out of the box, then have to work my way through something i have no guarantee will actually work.
