Would love to see a playthrough with friends of Anno with the expansion 🤩

We played a 4-player game of Anno 1800 with the expansion and it was a very good experience although somewhat slow at the beginning. Everybody played the game for the first time but playing 4-player and with the expansion felt almost like the preferred option. You can definitely trade a lot and set up some great moves.

Any issues with adapting/translating the German language expansion for Anno 1800, once you received it? Would you consider it a worthwhile value to pursue the expansion for other English speakers?

Would you say Railways of the Lost Atlas is a great entry into 18XX games or is there a more beginner friendly title we can try first?

Embrace 18XX! You are right, that beginners game can take 4h+, but with at least one experienced player on board game length is cut by half. Yesterdays evening we played 1849 twice!
With RotLA I see one problem - there is fixed number of rounds, while in full 18XX players can end game quick, way before running out of cash in bank.

Getting my first in-person 18xx experience (not counting a "play" at Gamestorm convention 15 years ago where I had, literally, no idea what was happening) tonight with another total newbie. 2 player short game. Interested to see what we think. Your playthrough was very helpful.
