3D Printed Gears of War 4 Logo

This is a logo plate for Gears of War 4. My wife and I are huge Gears of War fans, so I've been wanting to do this for awhile. And since we're pretty busy this week, this was an easy print for both us.

Each color can be printed in an individual section so no post processing is necessary. The three parts are the text "Gears of War 4", the skull cog, and the back plate. All pieces press into place so no glue is necessary either. It's designed to be easy to print.

I designed this using Tinkercad and I printed it on my Robo 3D R1 with Hatchbox PLA. The whole thing took about 2 hours to print.

I love a lot of your wife's techniques. I could see the sponge leaving an awesome finish. I've used foam brushed before but never like this. You know I love logos too haha. Great video.

Have you looked into multi process printing -- you can print the backplate in black. Switch filament to white, print the letters, then switch to red and do the skull. Simplify3D makes doing that really easy. I've done both approaches. This one where you have different prints in different colors and pegs, and color layering, both work.. I've also done it with my dual extruder -- there is a way to do it where you can keep one nozzle cold while printing in another nozzle, so as to avoid oozing. Fun design, you gotta get your wife on camera talking about how she finishes the prints. You have a really great partnership going with your designs.

This is awesome! I am not good at at painting, so if I had done this myself then I would have just changed the colors in between layers.
