SWAKOPMUND
07 JANUARY 2025.
This video is about the December Namib Coastal activities with our preferred vehicle the Ineos grenadier Quartermaster availed by M+Z Motiors.
The Namibian coastline is most likely one of the most desolated on the planet, yet the beauty cannot be described nor understand.
The Namibian coastline stretches from the Orange river in the south to the Kunene in the north and stretches over a distance of more than 1500km. The coastline is home to a rich fishing environment and over the entire distance only five towns are next to the line. Most of the area is covered with our Namib Desert with some of the world's highest dunes.
Apart from the entire area being protected through the Namibian constitution , most of the areas are in concession areas and permits are needed and tours can only be done under supervision of a concession holder. trip can be done to experience why the area is called "Skeleton Coast" due to the many shipwrecks that ran ashore due to the rough seas, inhospitable terrain and many miles of pure nothing.
It is estimated that more than 800 ships ran aground, with around 300 still visible.
To experience this area, the vehicle we took to scratch only a small part, was the Ineos Grenadier Quarter Master - The D/C Bakkie.
Despite the heat, loose sand, and dunes the grenadier managed the terrain like a boss.
