This is one of the most brilliant songs ever written. Dylan is basically telling someone “You broke my heart. Fuck off…” but is not being necessarily hateful, nor overly petty, not wishing ill on her.

The hardest thing to do sometimes is walking away from a bad situation while not wanting to hurt someone who hurt you even if it would make you feel better in the moment.
