Wow I'm from America I wouldn't think of getting close to a guard for a picture. They aren't there as photo props for travelers. I'm appauled at these grown adults acting like they never seen a horse before. The disrespect they have for the queens guardsmen is unbelievable. Why do they feel the need to touch the reins or stand so close to a guard or gather in large groups and stand around and stare. If that horse gets upset alot of people will get hurt. These poor guards must be so annoyed by the end of the day. Grossly immature grown ups. Unbelievable

I HATE that these SOLDIERS are treated with such disrespect. They’ve trained so hard to get the work for the royal Guard and these people see them as nothing more than decoration for their backdrop. They are not there for your amusement! They’re doing their job. I cannot imagine the patience it takes to deal with this constant flow of annoyance.

What most tourists don't understand and it pisses me off as a previous service member, and an equestrian, is you are supposed to ask permission from the guardsman if you may touch the horse. Not all horses like being touched besides from their assigned riders, and if the guard says no you damn well don't touch.
