When I signed up to play Boros I wasn’t expecting to think, come on Wizards!

That was a really funny and precise way of explaining Mentor.
And you learn the basics of stacking Mentor triggers as well - Well done.

"The dead are not fit to serve"
Tell that to Bolas

The dramatic effect is strong with this one.

Can't wait to spend 15 minutes trying to do combat math with caffeine brain at 3am at the midnight pre-release. Glad I'll be playing literally any other color pair instead lol

This is so funny - reminds me of YouTube videos from the early days. Powerthirst, anyone?

What happens when you attack with only one creature and it has Mentor ability?
Does mentor trigger on itself? Or it must target only another attacking creature?

This is going to be awesome. Already running Gleam of Battle in my Tajic, Blade of the Legion EDH deck. The new mentor mechanic just makes Gleam of Battle all the more useful.

You guys made this mechanic way more complicated than it needs to be. Would mentor really have been that powerful if it just put a counter on any attacking creature?

Mentor just seems like an overly complicated version of bolster

MENTOR WILL MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLY ENERGETIC!!

OK I get the explanation. But it doesn't mention what happens if you have a mentor card that is equal in power to another card, but that mentor card gets mentored by another mentor card.

So say you have 2 Blade Instructors and one Hammer Dropper. Attacks are declared. Hammer Dropper mentors a Blade instructor so it can go to 4/2. So can it mentor the other Blade Instructor now that it's higher?

Okay, I might be dumb, but didn't the video say you can't make the power of the lower creature equal to the bigger one? Then how were they able to buff the 3/1 up to a 5/3?

Can't believe such a big corporation can't get good microphones for their promo videos. Honestly, I don't get it. You need new marketing. Those videos are what many new players will see, and thus should be so damn polished. Instead it is something anyone can create with a few minutes of Sony Vegas. I love the game, but I am always puzzled over how bad and old-fashioned its marketing is.

Wow That seems complicated...why not just a +1/+1 counter on another target creature? Is that so broken? Was Bolster so bad?

I Didn’t think it was possible to feel less hopeful forever Ravnica

But Blade instructor has Mentor 1 too, why was it not used to give +1/+1 to Barging Sergeant. Or can it not target a creature that has higher power at the time of choosing? After two mentor drops the Blade Instructor is 5/3 and should be able to place the counter on Barging Sergeant.

In my next Prerelease, I'm so choosing Boros!

if i understood the mechanic correctly, not even them had the perfect attack there, or didn't want to. You want to put the 3/1 on the stack first, then the 5/2 then the 4/2. The 3/1 will get 2 counters then when it resolves will give 1 counter to the 4/2. Good job MTG.
