This is my personal opinion as what I see as a Keralite, the BJP represents the upper class of Hindu communities whereas UDF & LDF have embraced the scheduled castes and tribes which represents the majority of the population in Kerala.

Madam, you are absolutely wrong to say that the BJP could not make it in Kerala because of high literacy rate. I am from Kerala.
The main reason is the demographic situation. The Muslims and Christians make up nearly half of the population and they are mostly concentrated in many constituencies. Hindus are spread accross the state and hence difficult to win alone The Christians and Muslims never vote for BJP and as usual Hindus are not United. Many of them are with the communists. However now some of the Christian population started supporting BJP and their vote share is increasing. If Kerala get a strong young leader like Sri. Annamalai in TN, then the situation will change gradually.
