Don't fall for this Crypto Pump and Dump Scam!

Crypto Pump and Dump, it’s the get rich quick scheme taking the internet by storm. A discord group I joined gained over 100,000 members in the past two weeks, that’s 100k more people that could potentially get scammed.

Today I’m going to show you what a Crypto Pump and Dump group is and how these people are taking advantage of unknowing victims.

So the idea is, the group announces a specific coin at a certain time, the members come online and all purchase the coin as soon as it is announced. As everyone buys the coin the plan is to sky rocket the price of the coin so that everyone makes money, showing gains as high as 300% in minutes. They suggest you hold the coin for 5 minutes in which time they’ll launch a viral campaign which will rapidly increases the price of the coin, being picked up by all the Bitcoin social media channels as an emerging trend by coin buying bots.

Let’s think of this at a very basic level, in any market place you need buyers and sellers. There will be plenty of buyers, but when the price rockets to 14-15x the price, is there really going to be the demand of people who want to buy the price at this inflated price, or are a lot of people going to miss out and be unable to sell?

This scam is designed extremely well.

1. It’s an anti-establishment type scam, people feel as though they are winning and “beating the machine” or “taking down the man” - the group of people is working together to manipulate the system.

2. It has a fantastic referral system, if you recruit your friends you get seconds knocked off from the time the coin is announced, so you can buy before everyone else. Doesn’t quite seem fair, right?

3. It’s a community, within the group you feel safe and trust fellow group members. And no matter what you may say negative or show negative results, some heroes will always claim it was your mistake, not the groups. They block and delete any negative people who are telling the truth about the pump and dump.

I decided to test my theory that this was a scam. Within 19 seconds of buying the coin $NEBL it went from 0.005 to 0.027 and was on it’s way back down at 0.013 when I bought. They had sold the coin within a few seconds and everyone buying the coin lost money.

They suggest you buy the coin and hold for 5 minutes, and slowly sell (giving them time to sell all of the coins they had previously bought before announcing the coin). In the days leading up to the coin being announced the owners buy mass volumes of the coin ready to dump within seconds of announcing it.

So be aware, these groups only make money for the owners of the group, who scam their members. If you want to invest in bitcoin I suggest doing it slowly with 1-5% of your income that you aren’t afraid to lose, it’s not backed by assets that a traditional share would be.

Thanks for exposing this scam. The youtubers doing this are making a killing. Especially those with over 100K followers. I personally watched some of them that recommended a coin to their subscribers and the coin exploded up 100X in 24 hours. Then a few days later crashed as people started selling. Sometimes they scammers will work in partnership with other youtubers to recommend the same coins just hours apart. The comments on those channels are "Let's all get rich" and "This coin is going to explode" and "I'm making a killing." And similar comments. In reality, they are all trying to rip off each other because anyone with a brain knows those that buy in late with take the loss. So the early birds buy the coin and then get busy using social media (twitter, youtube, blogs, forums) to recommend the coins as the next bitcoin competitor. It's all about making money from the sheep.

I did join their group and witnessed 2 pumps before i tryied on the third one with 10GBP, happily i was able to win 20gbp ontop, but i did see its a scam, i quit the group after. I recommend always to everybody if you are trying something, try with 10$ or whatever.

To add to my comment below. When people like you try to expose the scam they get bombarded with dislikes by the people looking to cash in. So their video/channel gets shadow banned or buried in the algorithm. That's why you never see a negative video about crypto investing... it's all get rich in crypto videos that dominate the rankings.

There are organized youtube channels that work with each other to pump. Shiba inu is a example about 7 channels working in conjunction.

I just got into cryptocurrency buying Dogecoin which is the result of a pump and dump.A friend of mine got in when it was 0.0015 and walked away with a huge profit but, this wasn't a 5 min pump and dump but one that took a longer length of time.

This is an important video for newbies into crypto, thanks for creating it. A lot of ppl don’t realise hype pump & dumps are v.different to investing wisely in coins that have real value, beyond their currency. Trying to get rich quick is never stable and a lot of ppl lose money.

I wish i could have watched this video just yesterday 😔. Same thing happened like you said, i thought im fast and can place and sell orders in jiffy. But it was so volatile and random that i lost my 150$. If i had waited 4mins according to channel owner (Crypto Pump channel with 3million followers is complete scam) I would have lost everything, geeks. I felt so bad and cheated, they eat other people's money. So hell, within 5 secons loosing 150$ for me was so crazy, Also i didn't sleep that night 😔

Every type of "investment" stocks, index funds, bitcoin, EVERY single one where there is some type of broker and an exchange and "promoter" works exactly the same way, the only difference is the time frame. For stocks the pump and dump is over the course of basically the IPO, but then it can also continue after that and they can pump and dump multiple times "buying the dips." So for the stock market the only real difference is that the pump and dump is over the period of years or decades. All investing is just scams against the retail and retirement "investors." Investing doesn't work for the "investors" it never has worked in all history. It only works for the promoters and insiders.

The discord I joined blaming me for being slow in buying a crypto. 33 seconds late which is very absurd as I follow exactly how to buy the crypto. That's very bs as you will search the coin first before buying it. How someone can be faster than that??? Not unless if it's a pre-pump or people already knows what crypto to select for pump.
