I have a Leica MP and a Mamiya 7II and I think I agree mostly with this conclusion. Both are amazing film cameras and I love them dearly, but I tend to reach for the Leica more often than the Mamiya.

Maybe it's size, but to me the Mamiya also feels more precious, less sturdy (I haven't snapped off the film-changing-curtain lever yet though—like sooo many other people have ... ) The Mamiya also becomes more unwiedly when you use any other lens than the 65mm and the 80mm, due to the 43mm and the 50mm working better when using the external viewfinders (let's not talk about the 210mm which I suspect is some kind of Mamiya engineer department prank ... ) I love the 50mm and the viewfinder is great, but that's one more piece of fragile glass thingy to worry about ...

I've managed to damage the Mamiya once when I used the panoramic adapter (which morphs the 7II into a 35mm XPan alternative ... )—the film advance was damaged somehow. Very scary, until I found a great former professional Mamiya repair person who took the camera apart and fixed it.

But ... jesus ... I'm not complaining ... it's such a luxury to be able to use both of these amazing cameras.

So many good shots...each picture by itself. They'd be good for a book.

Did anybody else find it hilarious that it said “no diving” at the dive bar? Or was that just me? 😂

if you play this at 1.5x the background music becomes a BOP so try that the second time you watch it after you watch it normal speed first.

Loving these videos Joe! Your definitely one of my favorite photographers and the reason I got into the Leica system. This type of video is really great because it’s fun to get to see and hear your process as you shoot some really beautiful photos. Thank you for continuing to be consistent in posting these I know it’s a lot of work but it’s great content you got a knack for it 👍🏻

Cool video bro. I have a question. With your night shots how did you Meyer? Incident meter bulb facing away from light to where your camera was on the tripod?

Do you make any post-production on the colors which look absolutely gorgeous or are they like this from the camera (and film of course)?

Those old school motels are the best. I try to stay at those kinds of motels when I'm on the road. So much more interesting than a Quality Inn. Great pictures!

This location is.. wow I'm speechless.
Compare 35mm and 120, what a great idea.
If you have a good lens, 35mm can really do the job.
Also the form factor is often forgotten. Medium format is... big, too big often for a daily carry.
