Ham and Cheese Sliders

24 Kings Hawaiian Rolls (or any slider sized rolls)
1/2 pound Swiss Cheese
1 pound Honey Ham
1 stick butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds
1/2 teaspoon mustard
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 teaspoon onion flakes

Split rolls. Place bottom of rolls in a 9 x 13” baking dish sprayed with non-stick spray.

Layer ham and cheese on each roll and replace tops. 

Stir together the melted butter, poppy seeds, mustard, Worcestershire Sauce, and onion flakes. Slowly pour this over the tops of rolls allowing butter sauce to soak in.

Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 350°. Bake rolls for 20 minutes or until tops are golden brown and the bottoms are done.

Here in Texas we call these funeral sandwiches. We just lay the ham and cheese across the whole pan of bread. Once they're done & cooled a bit, we slice through them both ways. We're lazy I reckin. We have them now & then for supper. I love the taste of the poppy seeds, but hate how I'm picking them out of my teeth for an hour lol. We don't let them sit overnight though. Can't wait that long lol.
I loved the Jetsons too. I often think how many things on star trek that we have now that we thought we're so unrealistic then. I'm still waiting on the food replicators. Just walk up to a machine tell it what you want and there it is. lol

I can't thank you enough for this recipe. I made it for a family luncheon. Absolutely everyone loved it. My husband and I loved the aroma of the butter concoction made and added the night before. I made a few small changes based on what I had available. Instead of poppyseeds, I used Everything Bagel seasoning. I also used onion powder instead of the minced onions and munster cheese (our personal favorite) instead of Swiss cheese. I followed your instructions to the letter and ooh-la-la! They were so delicious! Thank you for all you bring to our tables.

We watched this the day you first posted it. A little while later, Jen commented that watching it had put her in the mood for some of these. I had already ordered a spiral ham, which I baked the next day. I used the leftovers to make a half-batch. They were so good. Because my ham was thicker (and scrappier), I cut the sliders apart before baking to make them easier to serve. We like them made with country ham, too. Love watching your videos.

Hi Tom/Chris and Melissa… I’ve kinda been under the weather so to speak but I have a Kentucky sliced ham in my fridge. Sitt’n here trying to think of an easy way to fix some supper using the ham..This sounds yummy so I’ll make these and prolly some home fries ..
