Houston Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Terri Alani, the TexasToothLady, shows step by step how to disguise that dark front tooth to match a smile makeover with a crown and Emax porcelain veneers. Color shading is so important in achieving optimal results . The preps were minimal prep except for the front crown we replaced. We also used a laser to recontour the gum line in order to achieve symmetry with the front teeth. Each custom crown or veneer is 1600 per tooth.

Great work! I have heard other doctors advise against crowns because they say it is bad for teeth. What is your opinion? Can ppl with crowns still maintain healthy teeth or are they doomed to eventually have a lot of dental problems in the future?

Im in the process of getting new crowns, sorta like this person. I have a dark front tooth too and the replacement crowns all have a grey tint and I don't like it so will do over again.. What is the pink stuff you put on that tooth and is its purpose to make the tooth white under the porcelin tooth. Or will I need to use a different type of material/thickness with metal to hide the dark tooth and gemlike? I don't understand why my new crowns are all grey; seems like it would be color composition to me. Please advise on options.
