Sem Mukhem Temple is perched at an elevation of 2903 m on a hilltop. It is dedicated to the snake god, Nag Raja, and holds special significance for the local people. Tourists can reach the temple by a trek of 7 km from Khamba Khal, which is connected to Tehri by a 64 km long motorable road. Accommodation facilities are provided to the guests by the Pandas or the temple priests of the Mukhem village, which is located at a distance of 2 km from Khamba Khal. An uphill trek of 5 km from this village leads to the Sem Mukhem Temple.
Reaching Sem Mukhem from Rishikesh is a beautiful Journey where we get to witness Tehri lake (one of the India's biggest man made lake), Dobra Chanti Bridge(India's biggest suspension bridge), Pratap Nagar and by many beautiful villages of Garhwal Uttarakhand we reach to Mukhem where Sem Mukhem temple exists
