It is so encouraging that athletes are sharing their experiences about their mental challenges. Hopefully young athletes are being exposed to these stories so they are aware that this could happen to them and resources are available if they need them.

The key piece to here is that Francois had a coach/person that he trusted and was able to confide in - I don't know who you are coach, but high five!

My heart goes out to Francois, but he was incredibly lucky to have support and the resources through his professional sport, Diving Canada. In my experience, we have been kicked to the curb when it comes down to getting the support my adult daughter needs, in Ontario. Unfortunately, our hospitals for the average citizens, are "busting at the seams". Good luck and good health to all the wonderful Canadian athletes.

My goodness, I'm watching different videos of elite athletes with eating disorders, and their stories are so similar that it's striking. Thank you for sharing your story.

As a waterman in recovery, it’s a great morale booster to see other male athletes who I can more easily identify, with talking about their experiences. Thank you for the video :)

I got my eating disorder from wrestling, it’s so bad because when your whole life becomes about watching weight and calories you can’t really turn it off. I gained weight after the season ended like any normal person but it really just hurts to look at myself in the mirror. I once was overweight during quarantine because of Covid and my mind is telling me I’m gonna get back there so I’ve been eating a minimal amount and making myself throw up. I’m starting to get help.

Yeah the point i got from this video is that he got help because he was part of something elite. Glad for him but what about for people without those resources?
