How to open a can of Behr paint with the Simple Pour Lid

Behr has released new paint cans with an easy pour spout. Here's how to open the cans and attach the spouts!

Be sure to pour out of the short slot on the spout then let the paint come to a slight drip & rotate the can so the paint drips back into the spout. If you do it properly there's very little to wipe away

Thank you, been awhile since I've painted with Behr, they put the finger paint color of the directions. Luckily I saw the sign for the free funnel.

Purpose is for us Airless Sprayer TOO! not just DIY'rs. We don't all use 5 Gal but also 1 Gal. to Spray w/ Airless Sprayers :) Yet Love what HD did w/ their BERH 1 GAL CANS :) George Amodei

To open the smaller hole much more easily: place the spout, which should come free (I just got one at Home Depot) on top of the raised, black = (equal sign). Place it like an ice cream cup, with the bigger hole at the top, and the smaller end gripping the equal sign. You have to position it so it will grip the equal sign when you press down. So you may need to turn it a bit as it has a unique lip that will fit like a puzzle piece and snap on when pressed in the correct position. Grab a wad of paper towel or a wash cloth and twist it open! Viola!

Actually Behr pours it differently than that in their tutorial video. They use the sides with the lip. Just proves what a pour design this is if no one know intuitively what to do with

I've got my doubts about the plastic lids. Our2 cans of paint are about 3 years old, and it's gone bad, even though the lid was sealed at the store. I'm still using 10 year old paint with the tin lids and have never had them dry out.

Funnel should comes with it. Good idea but that's extra.
