Remnant Granular VST Delay Plugin Better Than Output Portal!?!

A review video about a new granular delay effect VST plugin called "Remnant". I'm testing it out to see if it's better than Output Portal. It's going for a cheap price on Plugin Boutique. I'm demoing it on some guitars and vocals. It's fairly decent but need some improvements (which can be added in future updates) like adding sync time signatures and a master gain knob (because the effects get lost in the mix very easy!). Portal seems to have an edge on Remnant, in sound and preset quality.

Wow. As a granular synthesis freak I was interested. Bought it for 20 something bugs on PB and I got Iris2 for free on top. Wow. Had the latter pin my wishlist for ages. How cool is that? Thank you Ave for the tip top tip. :)

I consider Portal more as a multi-effect plugin than purely a granulator. It has a compressor, distortion, reverb, bit crushing, phaser, etc. While Remnant is truly a grain delay effect at the very core and nothing else. I own both and aesthetically the granulation sounds very different. I have a slight preference for Remnant though, a bit more wild and on the experimental side which I like a lot, pushes me more toward experimentation and happy granular accidents. Both a very great though.

Portal looks like its still the better of the two, at least in terms of how its laid out and looks. I think itd be the better plugin if you were making your own presets for it.
