Guatemala has amazing places to live in. Antigua just made the list for Nat Geo's 25 places to visit in 2025. Its a world unesco heritage city with an amazing food scene and volcanoes yet no mention.. shows you just go with what the "known central american countries" and don't dare to actually go in depth into the region.

It’s great to have all these destinations to go to but what do expat people do for an occupation when they go there? Nobody really talks about what they do for work or starting a business. All I can think is teaching English ( TEFL ) or working remotely.

A place I could also recommend is MOROCCO. Life there is cheap. You're one hour from Europe, 3 hours from Middle East and 6 hours from US.
