One thing I've learned is to actually soak the baits in the bag for a bit before using them so the lures have a chance to soak up the oils.

try dipping the lures in the attractant it's not as messy and you get even coverage.

there's native blue crayfish in the St John's River, FL. I always wanted to go catch some but that river is huge.

Squirt the scent in the bag of baits and let them soak for a couple of weeks so the scent doesn’t just wash off the first time you throw them in the water.

Garlic or shad spray is what I use from time to time but I let mine soak for about 30 minutes bass love them and catfish

I always see little crawfish claws on the bank at this lake I fish at a lot! There’s usually strange looking birds hunting and eating them right in front of me so that’s my guess, or something else is eating them lol

You should run this challenge back with the whole crew you norm hunter and whoever else you can get in on it, then y'all should choose the same soft plastic each choose a scent then put it under a bobber and all cast into the same general area and wait to see which one gets hit first then keep running it like that. This way you find out which attractant actually works the best. Just an idea.

The Smellygelly crawfish glitter gel attractant is the best I have found for bass from Maryland to Florida.

Fun fact, fish attractant is not allowed for competitions, and some are so powerful they aren't even allowed for use in most states

That Walmart attractant also comes in a Garlic Salt flavor. You can spay a little in your bag of worms to let them marinate and keep the soft plastics soft and flexible for a year after purchase. I like the Garlic Salt and the Game Fish best.

Blue crayfish are a common tropical aquarium pet. My guess is someone released a few because they were too big for their tank and they reproduced.
