This is one of the best videos and series I've seen about Saltair. Nicely done. Hope you keep it up. Watching more of your videos now. Thanks!

I grew up in the Salt Lake City area. When I was in high school, around 1970, my sister, boyfriend, and I went to Saltair and arrived at dusk. It was an immense wooden building, quite dilapidated, but still amazing. At soon as we entered the ballroom, hundreds of bats started flying at us in order to reach the exit. Looking around the dancefloor area, there was a lot of graffiti and vandalism. It was actually quite spooky because it was now dark, and Saltair was out in the middle of nowhere, so we hurried back to the car and drove off. About 3 months after our visit, I heard it had burned down.

Utah used to have so many incredible structures and places to see back in the early 1900's. It fills me with sadness to know that the vast majority of them are gone.

All that beauty… just gone by a fire, I traveled to Salt Lake City all my life and never paid much attention to the Great Salt Lake until a few months ago when I started to realize this huge lake was drying up FAST. I found this video and I want to give you a very big thank you for sharing this with us ❤️

I have been fascinated with Saltair since my mom told me stories of riding the Bamberger train there and watching the dancers. She didn't like the salt water and wasn't into the rides. The coaster frightened her and she called it a monster. She told me Lagoons was small compared to it. Her sister Thelma and her date rode it and Thelma told me their bar broke and they held on for their lives. After her date ran off and threw up. My mom's brother Bud snuck onto the Bamberger on his Birthday(dirt poor) and was chased by conductor till a couple took pity on him and paid his fare. Then they invited him to join them and paid for him to go on all the rides. This would of been Saltair two. I liked the first one best but would of been over joyed to see the 2nd.

Back in 1966 I went in a field trip to Salt aire. It was exciting because my grandpa played drums in the band there. 7 years late it was gone, again! It's burnt a few times

Outstanding video(s)! The depth and detail of your research is extraordinary. The demise of The Great Salt Lake's shoreline reminds me of The Salton Sea in California; once a major tourist and relocation destination. Maybe this could be a future project for you. Thank You for your efforts.
