Thailand's 500-member elected House of Representatives is scheduled to hold a special session on Friday to choose a prime minister after Srettha Thavisin was dismissed from office by the nation’s Constitutional Court for an ethical violation. A multi-party coalition led by former leader Thaksin Shinawatra-backed Pheu Thai is due to discuss a common candidate ahead of the vote. Patpicha Tanakasempipat reports on Bloomberg Television.

I lived in Thailand for 9 yrs. While oppressive and dysfunctional, the government there isn’t any worse or better than here in the U.S. The military does seem to hold the upper hand as to how the country is governed, but it’s been like that for almost 20 yrs now. That aside, I love it there and am returning later this yr. I hope things improve.
