[Synopsis]
In this video, I show you how to setup and use the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W single board computer with Retropie O.S.. I also test Retropie with a number of emulators to see the compatibility and performance in relation to various emulators from the Atari 2600 to the Nintendo 64.
The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W is like a Raspberry Pi 3 B+, but it comes with half the RAM and is about 200 Mhz slower than the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ SBC. The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W is basically a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ which is the same size as a Raspberry Pi Zero W.
On the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W that I tested, it is cooled by a heat sink with a thermal tape on it. It can be used to make drones, kiosks, remote control cars, or in this case a retro video gaming console. I connect single board computers like these to my television to use as a retro video gaming console. You don't need to keyboard for it, all you need is a USB controller. It doesn't use much power, it uses about 1.4 Watts. 512 MB of RAM is enough to emulate anything from a Atari 2600 up to a Sony Playstation 1, the PS1 had about 2 MB of EDO system RAM. The Sega Dreamcast had about 16 MB of system RAM. This little board cannot emulate a Sega Dreamcast, because it lacks the computing power to do that.
This is a great little board can be hooked up to your HDMI monitor or HDMI television. It's a capable board, you can use to hook up to a TV, and you can play all your classic arcade and video game console games on.
