I tried it with Canadian coins, but it didn't work same thing as United States coins

It's because the air pockets that are the spaces on the fork keep the coin afloat

SInce the coin is a little bit curved on the sides, it allows it to store a little bit of air between the water and a coin so it doesn't break the water tension.

It is because there is air underneath the coin wich keeps it afloat

Repeat this but once the coins are floating let a drop of dish soap drip into the bowl.and see what happens.

There's no water on top when you gently lay it in with the fork so it floats. Very simple.

Yes one of the coins, It's of Portugal. It was '1 escudo', but nowadays we use euro.
