Not only fired but arrested and trialed with jail time. I can see the inmate's welcoming committee once sentenced.

They paid him for 2 years to sit at home? If he really did anything wrong, they should sue him for the tax payers $ back. This is a joke, what normal person gets that? This is part of the problem with our world today. No one should ever get paid for 2 years w/o working, that should all be decided after his firing by a court to see if he deserves it or not. What a joke!

He was suspended with pay since 2020 and he just recently got fired? I hope he has to pay back all the taxpayer money he got for free over that time period.

Kudos to the department head who fired these individuals and told the union to "sit down and shut up."

*Now if they would put as much effort in cleaning up their own deparment by getting rid of all the incompetent/bad officers, it would really be a step in the right direction in restoring some community faith in the police department.*

He must’ve loved the time off with pay 💰

Cops shouldn't have unions. The armed forces don't, and neither should cops. Being a cop should be a position of honour, with the highest standards of behaviour. They should be paid well. In fact, they should start with a generous base pay. And the more education they have, the more money they should make. If a cop breaks their oath of office the consequences should be severe. But no unions. Don't misunderstand me, I'm pro union, just not for cops.

".. suspended *with* *pay* since April 2020.." so, basically a very long *paid* *vacation* for violating company policy & undermining community trust.
The only profession where you can *literally* kill an unarmed citizen and be 'reprimanded' with paid time off or 'desk duty' while your company 'investigates themselves'.

Union presidents are often at odds with leadership. Union contracts often make it very difficult for leadership to remove bad cops. Leaders then have to shoulder the blame for the incompetence or malfeasance of officers that the union protects.

the only thing they mentioned this union president did was suggest they didn't have enough masks, while on a radio interview? that seems like you are leaving quite a bit out.

The union may be one of the variables blocking or slowing down police reform

Finally some of them (police/union president) are being held accountable for thier actions...we had a union president that was so arrogant and showed his racist side during the 2020 election that eventually the police union voted a new president in to take his place...

Let's label that for what it was: a power struggle for control of the rank and file members of the sheriffs department and the union leader lost. He encountered a department head who behaved like he was supposed to. He was patient and gathered the information he needed to make his case and obtained the desired result. F L U S H!

So you paid him a couple hundred thousand to sit at home before firing him.... nice!

Video cameras have taken away a lot of their entertainment abusing the public. I glad to see the pinned up anger has them turning on each other.

He's certainly not the only one who should be fired.
