When my kids were little, my favorite books for them were bath books (not sure if that's how they're marketed). They have them at the dollar tree sometimes, usually hanging on an end shelf corner. They're like a puffy plastic-y book.

Also, for teething babies, getting a large carrot (diameter) and making sure it's like 5 -6 inches long, freeze it and let them gum all over that.. makes a really great (and simple/inexpensive/healthy) teething toy. Just make sure your kid isn't in light colored clothes you want to keep nice, carrot drool stains.. lol

I think you'd be proud, I was able to do ALL of the decor for my son's HS grad party using dollar tree item's! Including the balloons and signs! The same bouquet of balloons that cost me around $9 including a weight was $80 at party city! WOW🎉🎉🎉 And the helium stayed good for over a week ❤
