In this video I show you another site were setting up to be another nuc apiary.

Its very important for any bee or honey farm to have ample number of nucs. Bees die from summer and winter losses and this can effect how much honey you produce. Its very important to keep your numbers up.
By having plenty of nucs your able to back fill your apiaries keeping your honey production numbers constant.

Also if your like me and you sell Honey Bee nucleus yo need to make sure you have ample numbers to hand. Enough to cover your own needs and enough to sell without letting anyone down or yourself down!!

We were walking in the heather in the Conwy Valley yesterday, as dry as a bone up there. No rain in May.

If you are a farmer listen to what Gruff says. 110% on the money. Also plant your hedges around the fields with things like crab apple haw thorn etc There are tons of shrubs that will not effect your crops in any bad way. Trees of the legume family like Siberian Pea tree will help soil fertility and feed the bees. Bring in lots of pollinators for your crops.

I’ve been on a search for plastic pallets without any luck in north wales.
Hope you get a few bales of that field

I bought my first bees from BS Honeybees over 10 years ago now and it was a great way of getting into beekeeping with some very calm, healthy and hard working bees. I have occasionally bought queens from them since but I suppose that my bees are mainly a mix of local and completely uncontrolled genetics nowadays, including some quite feisty Welsh bee genetics of the Ceredigion version 😄

Just another good video from you.
Here in Denmark, we are in the June Gap right now.
No flowers due to no rain for the last 19 days, and we are looking on antoher 10 days without any rain.
Clover is starting to Bloom, but the nectar is SO thick, that the bees don’t wanna collect it.
