Hero Nurse Saves Child From Choking at Restaurant

A Georgia nurse is being praised as a hero after saving a kid's life. The terrifying incident started when a mom was holding her son in a restaurant. Suddenly, her kid put something in his mouth and he started choking. Charis Putmon, a trauma nurse, saw the child's dad dart towards the front door of the restaurant. That's when she sprung into action and started doing the Heimlich maneuver on the choking child. After three sharp thrusts, the object, which was a mint, popped out of his mouth.

What an amazing nurse! This brought tears to my eyes. Also, there’s a product called The Life Vac that I take everywhere with me. It’s a device to remove a lodged object when someone is choking. As a mom of two I’m never without it! God bless both of these families!

I’m a retired ER nurse. But I did CPR on a man who had a cardiac arrest in a hockey arena in Schumacher Ontario. The volunteer off duty paramedic didn’t lift a finger, he just critiqued our efficiency. The man was successfully resuscitated and we were mentioned in the local paper as two unidentified nurses from our small community hospital. I went on to work in Toronto’s then largest teaching hospital where CPR was a regular part of the job. My best save, though, was in that small town arena! 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦
