Brosella 2010 : Derroll's Dream in Brussels near the Atomium
Derroll Adams, an American singer-songwriter and folk artist, spent half of his life in Belgium, neatly divided between Brussels and Antwerp.He was born in Portland Oregon He dreamed about performing one day with plenty of violins and female vocals. Usually, he was on stage on his own, with just the five-string banjo and his deep velvet voice. And now this festival tried to make Derroll's dream come true and to honour the tenth anniversary of his passing.

I was a neighbor for a few years off Derrol, loved his playing in the garden.  Banjo is one of my favorite instruments sinds than.

Ich entdeckte Derroll erst nach seinem Tod im Jahr 2000 durch das Werk "Banjoman", das Hans Thessink und Arlo Guthrie formvollendet mit einer CD und einem Booklet gestalteten. Außerdem wirkten an dem Werk sein alter Freund Ramblin' Jack Elliot so bekannte Größen wie Donovan, Dolly Parton, Allan Taylor und Ralph McTell mit, einige mit speziellen Hommagen an Derroll. Die Lieder auf dieser CD höre ich mir immer gerne an.
