Say if the superbowl kickoff is in the pacific time zone at 3:30pm and church evening service in the eastern timezone is in the eastern time zone at 6:30pm. What my church did (eastern) in the past was start church service an hour early at 5:00 pm so that service ends a few minutes before kickoff, serve free pizza and wings, put up a big projector and 150 inch screen and make it a church fellowship event. More people attended than those that did on easter sunday. The pastor knew his congregation well and ways to get sinners into the church. Smart guy.

Brings back memories. When I was in my late teens, early twenties, our minister was an ex CFL player, and on Super Bowl Sunday and Grey Cup Sunday and every other bowl Sunday, we had extra short church services. 😎

At our church, we have baby, bridal, and wedding showers after the Sunday night service. My baby shower was snowed out, and it was going to be rescheduled the following week. The men mentioned that it was Super Bowl Sunday. It was scheduled 2 weeks from the original date. He was due on the 17th, and we had time. He was born on February 1st. ROFL!!! And it was snowing the day we came home too. We didn't have the bassinet, so he slept in a clothes basket for two nights. 🏈🏆🏆

One of my pastors arranged an early evening service one sb Sunday and then had the sb pumped into the fellowship hall.
