her vocal performance on this is stunniiiing 💞 I love Tarja when she's singing rock or metal but in the end she truly has one of those voices that just *need* to be heard within the acoustics of a church

A very emotional performance. It brings out tone of Tarja's rich voice wonderfully. Already Rammstein's Ohne Dich is a beautiful, this one shows another option how to approach the same text and melody.

Tarja is fluent in Finnish, English, German and Spanish. The lyrics suitably dark for Rammstein.
Also good to see German sung so beautifully. For people who want to say its harsh. Its in how you use it. You can growl menacingly puppy digs. Kittens. Soft fluffy clouds. But why would you? Or you could whisper sweetly and warmly, starving, freezing, toxic, poison. But again why?? Context matters. Subject, time, place. And no better time or place than in the hands of someone who has mastered its use for conveying the beauty of music.
Those hands being Tarja's. Part of the festival. This is one of 3 venues set aside for it.

The "-stein" in Rammstein is pronounced like rhyme. And the st like a sh :) Ramm - shtyne. Great band! And this is a gorgeous cover ♡ plus Tarja's pronounciation in German is really good !

Ok.for reference this is part of her concert at Wacken Metal Church, Germany. Takes place the night before the open air festival. Invite only to under 100 members of the public. The Piano player and the Cellist are regular members of her band. The violinist is a guest.
Tarja was invited to give this concert back in 2016. It was just released a few weeks ago.on the album Rocking Heels. Where Tarja sang covers of some of her favourite 90s metal. As well as some Nightwish classics and her own originals from her rock albums.
Its a v.i.p. experince to share a church with an angel. ❤😇

Rammstein the masters of pyro is the the best live band in the world by far and the greatest rock/metal show on earth in these days. The song ist about the relationship between the band members of Rammstein and also can be seen as expressing mourning over the loss of a loved person. Rammstein wanted to break up one or the other time and that is why they had even therapy sessions. But they always decided to stay together. For Heitmann (film direktor of this video), the emotional message in the video is very important; Ohne dich shows unity in the band. Richard said that the most important thing is to stick together, everything else is irrelevant.Therefore Rammstein is one of the few Bands that have managed to play in the same line up and with the same members for almost 30 years since they were founded.

The funny thing is that Flake (Keyboarder) still denies that he is a member of Rammstein, because he actually never wanted to be part of Rammstein from the start because the music was too "simple" for him. Till and Richard always wanted to start solo careers. In addition, the Rammstein members constantly argued about every song, every video and every live show, how it could be done better. It actually almost came to a break up with the "Mother" video. Till shot the video alone without really involving the other band members. Rammstein not only had one group therapy with a psychologist over the years, but nevertheless they could never be without each other

There were 5 or 6 ideas for this video. Some of the band members wanted to make a video at sea, others wanted to make it in the mountains. Richard wanted to make a video based on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Match Girl" because it was the only fairy tale that made him cry, but the idea was rejected.. According to Joern Heitmann (film director), this is the most emotionally engaging video he has ever made with the band.

For the video, the band members grew beards, because in the mountains there is no time to shave. Flake was the only one to have an artificial one. During the making of, Till can be seen wearing a shirt which makes fun of Flake and his beard. The climbing scene was shot on one of the climbing walls next to a parking lot, and the band could go as high as they wanted to. The band was accompanied by an experienced climbing team who taught them how to correctly climb the wall.

The video was shot at +20 degrees. The snow was artificial, and the snow storm was created with the help of machines. Emanuel Fialik's assistant expressed his concerns about whether any of the band members would get hurt while shooting a video in the middle of the tour. Heitmann claimed that no one would have been able to stop Till from playing the falling scene.

The original idea was that Flake would have to carry Till together with Schneider at 3, 400 m above sea level, which was physically impossible for him. Richard admits that everyone always fights for their own scene when shooting videos and everyone wants to be able to play a part, so it's hard to work with them on the set.

I am always stunned at how accurate and only with a very slight accent the nordic people (finnish, swedes, etc.) can sing german - even if they don't understand it.

You can see by the choise of the lyrics as well the degree of Tarja being Mama to me, since this band is also known for lyrics... ...somewhat different to the lyrics Mum has chosen to get my tears running...
