I love my Maxx. I got back into the hobby after 10 years and wasn’t very familiar with these new brands. I quickly learned that nitro is a thing of the past. have a T-Maxx 3.3 and a Revo 3.3 that are over 10+ years old and they still run and work. I completely ruined a 3.3 engine when I first got into the hobby and didn’t have my tuning down and Traxxas replaced it for free after a year of use. The customer support I received was great, I hope they are still the same, I see so many Traxxas haters on the internet these days. I think I will be picking up an arma granite or this arma 4s for my dad for his birthday, thanks for the videos and reviews!!

I feel like people undervalue plastic.

Ive had both and have to agree with most of the video. I just sold my Outcast 4s to a neighbor that I just got into RC and I recently bought the Maxx. I have upgraded a lot on my Maxx and have it perfect at the moment. Wide kit, Traxxas CVDs, T-Bone wheelie bar with the Traxxas wheels, dBoot Backflip LPs, LED kit, and more. So much fun. I also just painted a new Proline Maxx body with white as the final color and it looks awesome.

You're going to piss off a few people with that conclusion. :)
Still the best and most unbiased review of Rc out there.
Cheers from Oz mate.

They are completely different rc's, i love both. Two of my favourite brands. I would love to see a comparison between the maxx and outcast 4s

Ive found some axle replacements for the Revo made by Hot Racing all i had to do was file out the inside with a dremel and swap out the wheel washers with smaller metal washer to make them work for the Maxx.

I did read a lot of comments about arrma tough and arrma lower cost then the Traxxas but when you read carefully, people seemed to have put hundreds of dollars in upgrades for there arrma. So don’t tell me that the Maxx is the same price as the arrma 6s if you put 300-400$ and more in upgrades. From what I’ve seen, that Traxxas don’t need upgrades. And no! Plastic is not bad at all. And no! 6s power is not necessarily better. So all that been said and not really a fan of Traxxas outside the trx4, I think they did a really good job with the max. And remember it’s a monster truck, it’s not meant to perform at racing and cornering. Its built to be beaten. And I think it does perfectly. The kraton is at truggy, wich purpose is off-road performance and it does perfectly. Think about that, would you drift a f1? Don’t think so. So! And that is my tough, if you want to bash hard, get the max, if you want race performance, cornering and control, get the kraton. Cheers

Nice breakdown and comparison 👊. It's weird how breakages can be such a personal experience thing 🤔. My Kraton 4s has had a rough life and has been very durable. The speed and handling is awesome too. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Nice review 👍🏻 The maxx is £569 here £200 more the the Kraton 4s which makes it stupid money for a basic 1/10 MT , on top of that I'd then have to find a low traction surface to run it on so it doesn't tip over every corner . Pros and cons for both trucks but the Arrma wins for me personally for value and the super fun handling.

Traxxas is very proud of their RC. Traxxas does their best to lock you in their brand. I like AARMA all day long. Felony, Infraction, Kraton, and Mojave are very good trucks.

Thanks for taking the time to give an honest review. I have the MAXX, and I hate buying parts. The MAXX has came out with a wider wheel base, that's another $45. They do have it priced a bit high. $450 to $475 for the added beefiness would be fine.

Great Review! I really appreciate how he weighs the difference between performance and durability. I'd probably go with the Kraton since I would be less likely to jump it so abusively.

Super thorough review, thanks! In the UK a new Maxx is £600+, while a Kraton 4 is £350, ie about £70 less than a Rustler..! Seems like a bargain. Also, with Arma HQ being in the UK, parts availability is good (though so is Traxxas). I was surprised by the breakages on the Arma - other people have found them one of the most durable. Can't doubt the Traxxas though - those things look way tough and the quality is so high. But I'd go Kraton - a zesty package and can get two batteries and a host of RPM for the same ££.

Around here the maxx is 150$ more than the outcast 6s/ kraton 6s, so I’m comparing it to the arrma 6s. The choice is easy.

Value-wise the 3S Arrmas give both of these trucks a very good run for their money! The Traxxas costs almost twice as much as a Senton 3S, is it twice the truck? Not for me...

I have both. So, i had the kraton first.... found out I hate it. everything about it. its so flimsy for the amount of power it has, 3s is almost too much. so i got the Xmaxx AND the maxx at the same time. Ive had a few days with both. I am certainly liking the maxx more. *gasp* right? well, the xmaxx is just big... and scary... and crazy. but the maxx is perfect size, crazy fast and totally bulletproof. everything you want in a basher. I think the xmaxx will ultimately be my fav overall soon enough, but for now, the wow factor and wicked upgrades availble make the maxx a real score.

The mini Maxx does take a beating, it's the basher of choice for sure out of these 2 trucks hands down. I bought the wide Maxx kit and have been planning on putting it on as soon as I broke an A-arm, been waiting a long ass time now lol

Interesting. The Kraton 4s won most categories, but you still chose the Maxx in the end. Kraton gets the nod in electronics, performance, value. Maxx wins in durability. I wouldn't even consider the radio as a major buying decision for either. Many people will just put their preferred Spektrum, Futaba, Sanwa, Flysky, etc receiver in these trucks anyway. You're saying that the Maxx is SO MUCH more durable than the sum of all the advantages on the Kraton? I'm not sure I'm following the logic, but a preference is a preference. 🙄

I bought a Maxx. Gonna get the wide maxx kit. I know thats more money but I bought it to drive and play not to wait on parts. If I do need parts my local hobby shop will have my parts in stock.
